The Opportunity
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department is part of BC Ferries’ Finance Division and is responsible for managing BC Ferries’ 12-year capital plan, annual operating budget and ad hoc analysis as the organization’s primary business intelligence unit. The team consists of highly motivated finance professionals who support organizational budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across all operating units and capital projects, as well as provide expertise in financial analysis to inform decision making.
The Financial Analyst works within the operating stream of FP&A, supporting the Manager in facilitating the annual budget process, quarterly forecasting and ongoing financial reporting. You work as part of a team, and provide decision-making support on the operating, financial and business activities of the company. Working both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams, this position promotes fiscal responsibility through financial planning, analysis and reporting.
You are a key team member, working directly with budget holders, departmental managers, executive and other stakeholders from across the organization. Your work includes corporate level planning as well as discrete analysis on key programs and initiatives. The position supports planning and decision making at all levels of the organization. In addition, you help maintain the FP&A software system and coordinate reporting within the FP&A department.
