The Royal and McPherson Theatres Society (RMTS), a registered charity, manages the operations and stewardship of the Royal Theatre and McPherson Playhouse on behalf of their civic owners and citizens of the region; cultivating a vibrant cultural hub for our community.

 

The RMTS is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of:

  • three Municipal Councillors,
  • three to five Capital Regional District (CRD) Appointed Directors, and
  • three to seven Elected Directors (elected by the Board of Directors currently serving as members of the society)

 

The Board works to maintain, preserve, and further develop the Royal Theatre and McPherson Playhouse, providing governance and management of the RMTS’ resources.

The RMTS is actively recruiting for one Elected Director to begin serving in October 2023. The ideal candidate for this current position would have:

  • Professional background in Human Resource management
  • Ability to provide guidance on HR best practices
  • Familiarity with developing HR policies
  • Experience working with not-for-profits and charities
  • Familiarity/experience with arts and culture organizations would be an asset
