Peninsula Co-op is inviting applications for the position of Administration Clerk at our Home Heating and Cardlock office located at 100-2261 Keating X Road, Saanichton, BC. We have a permanent, full-time role available, offering 40 hours per week. This position is administrative, but also requires a considerable level of customer service. The hours are Monday to Friday 8am-4pm.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You enjoy working with a fantastic team of people but can also work effectively on your own. You have excellent interpersonal skills, energy, enthusiasm, and initiative as you will be putting it to use serving our customers. You are an excellent communicator, both written and oral, and your ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment where work priorities can change quickly to meet the needs of our customers is a must! You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when completing forms and paperwork. Basic knowledge of accounting and accounts receivable as well as familiarity with posting accounting journal entries is an asset. You possess strong computer knowledge and comfort with Excel and DOS-based systems, as well as problem solving and analytical skills.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

 

In addition to working with a fantastic and supportive team, you will provide excellent customer service, including responding to customer inquiries regarding their fuel accounts and delivery requests. You will support accounts administration by preparing and reviewing paperwork required for new account openings and daily fuel deliveries as well as processing and posting payments made by customers. You will perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, Excel spreadsheet maintenance, preparing deposits and assisting with month-end statement preparation and filing. You will participate in special projects as assigned.
