The UBC Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MSLP) program is fully distributed and provides students the opportunity to study in state-of-the-art labs around the province. The MSLP-VIC cohort, located at the University of Victoria will welcome students starting in the fall of 2024.

The incumbent reports to the Health Professional Programs Manager and will provide a variety of classroom and administrative support to the MSLP program. This position works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and external instructors and works collaboratively with local and provincial program sites.

To provide effective and efficient support, this position is occasionally required to work varied hours for occasional attendance at exams, events, and meetings. Occasional regional and provincial travel may be required.

Job Requirements

Experience:

This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to 3 years of experience working within a comparable environment.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Comfortable learning new technologies e.g. audiovisual equipment and distributed teaching tools such as Zoom.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination.
  • Knowledge of hospital/health authority structure and functioning and a demonstrated understanding of medical terminology is an asset.
  • Experience using and assisting others to use audiovisual equipment is an asset.
