Accounting & Finance | Assistant Controller - FT

Job Summary
We are seeking to add an Assistant Controller as an enthusiastic member of the finance team. The ideal candidate will report and assist the Financial Controller with all aspects of accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software. A competitive compensation package is available to the suitable candidate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts
• Learn the ERP system and help with data extraction
• Calculation and preparation of statutory filings (GST, PST, WCB, etc.)
• Oversee intercompany accounting
• Assist with the financial statement closing process
• Credit card administration and expense coding

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Controller as needed
• Provide support to accounts payable and receivable departments as required
• Provide support to payroll and HR departments as required
• Any other tasks assigned

Education / Experience Requirements

• 2-3 years experience in a similar role
• General knowledge of GAAP
• Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

• Detail oriented
• Able to prioritize and manage time
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of accounting information systems
• Ability to work in a team and independently with little to no supervision
