Skilled Labour | 5 Ton Driver - FT

**This is a local driving position. Candidates must be located in the South Island area.**

$1000 signing bonus after 6 months of employment

The Role

• 5 Ton Drivers make pick up and deliveries of skidded grocery product to our suppliers and customers in an around the South Island.
• This is a full-time role working either Monday - Friday, or Tuesday - Saturday, depending on operational needs

The Responsibilities

• General P&D activities such as: safe driving, hand bombing, related paperwork, customer service
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with dispatchers and customers
• Report all incidents and safety hazards in a timely manner to the supervisor or dispatchers

Who You Are

• A confident and safe 5 Ton Driver with at least 1 year of professional driving experience and no major driving infractions
• A reliable, flexible, and respectful team-player that takes pride in their work

What You Bring

• Minimum 1 year of experience driving a 5 Ton truck
• Air brake certification and a clean drivers abstract
• Ability to drive manual transmission
• Knowledge of Greater Victoria and the South Island
• Physically able to lift 50lbs
• Flexibility for scheduling
• Experience using a pallet jack
• Knowledge of reefer settings and food temperature hauling requirements would be great
