The Manager, Academic Support plays a key administrative role in ensuring activities involving Faculty Members at Gustavson function properly by successfully managing faculty administrative processes and procedures, and coordinating with other UVic departments and colleagues as needed. This role supports Business faculty in the pursuit of research excellence and in providing outstanding experiential learning opportunities for Gustavson students.

Objectives:

  • Improve current Faculty Member administrative processes and optimize actions such as Appointments and Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure (ARPT) procedures to operate smoothly and effectively.
  • Administer specific operations and planning, Faculty Member management and strategic assistance to the Director, Business Operations, Associate Deans and the Dean.
  • Support the School Leadership Team to meet long-term faculty planning and academic goals.
  • Supervise four CUPE staff supporting teaching and learning, faculty recruitment, faculty evaluation, career progression, and academic administrative roles including the Dean and Associate Deans.
Job Requirements

This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree plus three years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
