CLIENT ADVISOR, COMMERCIAL INSURANCE, REAL ESTATE

Acera Insurance is looking for an experienced, ambitious, engaging person to join our Real Estate team. You have a strong work ethic and can-do attitude with an interest and understanding of commercial risks and insurance wordings. To support you in this role, you will be backed by our well-established company brand that has a strong connection to the community.  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Supporting Client Executive’s with their new business goals and plans; 
•    Ability to work in a faced paced environment;
•    Proactively managing the renewal process including marketing accounts, negotiating with underwriters and identifying cross selling opportunities; 
•    Creating new business proposals; 
•    Assisting in the collection of accounts receivable; 
•    Writing new business for existing clients as needed;
•    Knowledge, understanding and supporting risk management services; 
•    Providing claims support, invoicing, updating, and maintaining documents & files using our broker management system (EPIC); 
•    Maintaining a high level of customer service standards using our core values as the foundation of your service – Commit to Excellence, Take Ownership, Put People First and Make Work Fun;
•    All other duties as assigned by management.

LOCATIONS AND STATUS:
Victoria, BC
Permanent, Full-time (35 hrs/week) 
Compensation: Acera’s total compensation offerings are based on pay for performance that recognizes exceptional individual and company performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $55,000- $80,000 CAD annually; the pay offering is based on location and will vary depending on related education, client service experience, proven knowledge, skills, and internal equity. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Level 2 BC Broker License;
•    Minimum 5 years of insurance experience, with at least 2 years in commercial insurance;
•    Knowledge of the Strata Property Act will be considered an asset;
•    Previous experience working in EPIC will be considered an asset;
•    Self-motivated with strong initiative;
•    Ability to work outside of regular office hours when required;
•    CAIB and CIP designations – or proactively working towards;
•    Supports a climate in which the team wants to do their very best;
•    Adaptable to working effectively as a team or independently with the ability to adjust to tight, changing priorities and deadlines;
•    Ability to maximize efficiencies by leveraging technology, tools, resources and information;
•    Self-guided learner & solves problems with real solutions;
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
