Wages: $24/ hour
Work Hours: 40 hours a week.
Scheduled Shifts: Monday to Friday,8 hours per day, shifts may occur between 8am-8pm depending on program needs
Term: Ongoing
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Various locations across South Vancouver Island, predominately in Sooke and Westshore

Position Summary
The Community Intervention Coordinator (CIC) is an outreach position responsible for providing intervention support to middle-years youth (10-15 years old) in School District 62 who become disengaged from school, peers, and family support systems. The overarching goal is to work with youth that are at highest risk for increased mental health concerns, engaging in worrisome behaviours and engaging in risky lifestyle choices, including early substance use, while enhancing pro social engagement with school, community and family. Fundamental to this role is to assist youth in their physical, social, emotional, educational, recreational and vocational development that promotes their increased independence, allowing them to maintain connection with their natural family and function more successfully in their schools and community. The work of the CIC actively contributes to the Mission, Vision and Core Values of BGC South Vancouver Island.
