Position Summary
The Manager of Agricultural Products is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes, managing performance and efficacy tests in agriculture for liquid seaweed extract/biostimulants, and oversees and manages product compliance with certification standards in Canada, the USA, and internationally.
This role involves gaining state and national certification for the liquid seaweed extract/biostimulant products, conceiving and overseeing rigorous testing of product efficacy and outcomes with a variety of crops, and working with management and clients to ensure that product formulation(s) meet growers’ needs and expectations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in agriculture product formulation, certification, and managing tests and trials. Under the direction and support of the CEO/VP of Operations, the responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Responsibilitie:
- Manage ongoing LKE/biostimulant performance and efficacy tests.
- Oversee the product certification/registration process for Canada, the USA and internationally.
- Ensure products meet all regulatory requirements and standards.
- Work with Director of Sales for new product market opportunities
- Coordinate R&D to refine product formulations based on test results.
- Coordinate R&D to develop innovative and effective product solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of certification requirements and processes
- Participate in the design and formulation of new products.
- Analyze test data and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain high product quality.
- Provide input on product development to ensure quality and compliance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in agronomic effectiveness, supporting commercial and client facing teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bio-chem aspects of agronomy, agriculture product formulation, certification, and managing tests and trials.
- Proven expertise in product efficacy trials and regulatory compliance for inputs (preferably in biostimulants, fertilizers, or biologicals)
- Proven experience in quality assurance and compliance management.
- Familiarity with certification processes and regulatory requirements in Canada and the USA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and work effectively with research partners, clients, and regulators.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance
- Familiarity with agricultural and environmental regulations and standards.
- Strong project management and documentation skills
- Experience in ensuring products meet all legal and certification requirements for sustainability and environmental impact
