Civil Litigation Associate

Cook Roberts LLP is seeking to add a civil litigator to work in the firm’s litigation department. The successful candidate will assist with and/or assume conduct of a number of commercial litigation, employment law and estate litigation files. We look forward to welcoming an associate who wishes to build a long-term practice at Cook Roberts.  The ideal candidate is a self-starting, mid-career civil litigator with substantial litigation and mediation/arbitration experience, an ability to navigate complex, high-net worth disputes, and a desire and ability to mentor the firm’s next generation of lawyers.

The position could also be ideal for a senior lawyer interested in winding down their practice or sustaining a partial practice as an Associate Counsel while offering accessible mentorship support and direction to the firm’s junior associates.  

Qualifications:

- Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia (or another Canadian law society);

- Minimum 5 years of relevant civil litigation experience;

- Strong written and oral advocacy skills;

- Proven ability to analyze legal issues and provide effective, timely advice;

- Proven ability to work collaboratively as well as to run their own files; and

- Ability to work effectively as part of a collegial team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00+ per year and a bonus model
