Schedule:

This position works Sunday & Monday of each week, 8:00am to 4:00pm, for a total of 15 hours per week.

Pay:

Starting wage is $27.10 per hour ( includes provincial wage subsidy ), plus shift differentials as applicable.

Position Summary:

Provides reception, switchboard and general office duties and maintains efficient operations of the front office. Responds to inquiries from residents, staff and the public in a polite and courteous manner. Provides administrative support to the General Manager and various department managers. Maintains resident files, processes resident move in/out documentation and maintains the resident billing system. Maintains BRIT transactions and petty cash fund. Manages all resident and company information in a confidential manner and in accordance with the freedom of information and protection of privacy act.

May be responsible for “Emergency Response” for the building and its occupants.

Qualifications Required:

  • High School completion and experience in a related office and administrative field (minimum of 2 years)
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent judgment and interpersonal skills with co-workers, seniors, and the general public
  • Excellent word processing, database and spreadsheet applications, typing ability of 50 WPM
  • Valid Emergency Level 1 First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Emergency response training in the handling of emergency situations such as power outages, fire, earthquake and medical emergencies
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understands verbal and written instructions
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with the various individuals involved in providing holistic care in a flexible resident focused environment
  • Friendly and professional demeanour in person or over the telephone
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change while dealing with constant interruptions

As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. A current TB test and criminal record check are also required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults.
