The Position Highlights

  • Location: Victoria, BC - PSS Operations Department

 

 

Commitment and Term

 

 

  • Full-time, permanent
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am – 5 pm, with some after-hours support required as needed

 

 

Primary Focus

 

 

  • We are looking for an experienced IT Consultant / IT Systems Analyst to work within a highly skilled Consulting team delivering enterprise solutions to our small to mid-sized business (SMB) and enterprise clients with a strong focus on client care, timelines, and deliverables
  • You will be responsible for liaising with business, leaders, users and co-workers to provide technical support on complex issues related to our client’s various infrastructure environments. Most of the work is conducted in Microsoft-centric server environments. This will be achieved by providing technical consulting, client support escalations, service delivery, and implementation services for ESWIT clients.
  • Ability to work on new infrastructure projects taking instructions from Project Managers and Solution Architects.
  • This opportunity requires a result-oriented, career professional, who thrives on building relationships and accepting new challenges within a fast-paced environment.
  • The successful candidate must be client-centric (internal or external) and must have excellent client service and communication skills
  • The successful candidate must be open to travel to support clients in and around the Victoria area as well as other ESWIT locations across AB or BC as required

 

 

Key Education and Experience

 

 

  • Preferred Minimum 3+ years of experience in an IT consulting or intermediate technical support role
  • Post-secondary education in a computer-related discipline such as systems analysis would be preferred
  • Related industry technical certifications are considered an asset
  • Alternatively, an appropriate combination of education and experience may be considered

  • One or more of the following Microsoft Certifications are preferred (or the ability to show that you are working towards achieving certification
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Combination of the following exams AZ-303, AZ-304, AZ-305)
    • Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator (MS-203)
    • Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate (MS-700)
    • Advanced knowledge of Windows 10
    • Windows Server 2012/2016/2019
    • Microsoft Azure and design, build, and deployment experience
    • Microsoft 365 product suite
    • Microsoft Teams (messaging, file sharing and collaboration, VOIP)
    • Virtualization – MS Hyper-V
    • Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Active Directory
    • Advanced knowledge of networking fundamental

Job Description

 

 

  • Proactively build the client relationship with each onsite or remote client engagement
  • Provide IT service management for clients that are you are assigned the role of Primary Tech for
  • Facilitate service improvement meetings with the technical team that is supporting specific clients
  • Supporting the Account / Project Management Office in proposing and developing the “right” solution for the client
  • Plan/setup/configure/deploy/troubleshoot desktops, servers, networks, with a focus on cloud services such as Azure and Microsoft 365 as well as servers and storage
  • Investigating, troubleshooting, problem-solving and resolving technical issues and keeping detailed technical documentation
  • Provide a combination of on-site client support, and remote support for the Victoria area
  • Provide support for onboarding new clients to ESW
  • Provide after-hours support work when needed
  • Provide service desk support as needed
  • Provide after-hours on-call support on a scheduled basis
  • Assist with planning or implementation of small to complex projects
  • Create and maintain technical and user documentation as required
  • Provide sales support to Account Managers
  • Collaborate with technical Subject Matter Experts to deliver the right solution
  • Maintain client commitments related to service delivery requirements
  • Assisting in the delivery of automated Managed Service products
  • Performing other duties as assigned

 

 

Working Conditions

 

 

  • This position will be based out of the ESW Victoria, BC office location and supports the greater Victoria area and surrounding communities.
  • This role can be physically demanding at times requiring carrying, setting up and servicing of hardware weighing up to 50 lbs. in a variety of office environments
  • This role requires good time management skills and an ability to work with minimal supervision
  • On-Site Response: consultants may spend some of their time working side by side with clients
  • Will require own vehicle with insurance appropriate to business use
  • The successful candidate must comply with the safety standards of ESWIT and/or its clients

  • IT Consultant reports to PSS Manager
