Located in the heart of Downtown Victoria, Quality Inn offers guests a clean, comfortable, and welcoming stay. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department and ensuring the overall cleanliness and presentation of the hotel. This role reports directly to the General Manager (GM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and schedule housekeeping staff to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Ensure all team members deliver excellent customer service and understand guest expectations.
  • Maintain high cleanliness standards in guest rooms and public areas.
  • Inspect rooms regularly to ensure quality and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols, including WorkSafe and WHMIS guidelines.
  • Ensure all housekeeping staff are professionally presented in uniform and well-groomed.
  • Monitor departmental efficiency with a benchmark of:

**** 30 minutes per check-out room
**** 15 minutes per stayover room

  • Ensure Union rules and agreements are followed at all times.
  • Manage inventory and submit monthly reports to the GM.
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
  • Prepare weekly or bi-weekly staff schedules based on seniority.
  • Clean assigned rooms in accordance with Choice Hotels standards.
  • Address and follow up on guest or management concerns promptly.
  • Communicate maintenance issues to the Maintenance Department and support preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Respond to emergency situations and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Participate in monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings.
  • Recommend improvements to property assets and services to the FOM, GM, and Asset Manager.
  • Administer Lost & Found procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible shifts.
  • Familiarity with unionized work environments is an asset.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
