Traffic /Sales Coordinator

(full time 37.5 hours)

About the role

We are looking for an organized and detail oriented, Traffic/Sales Coordinator to join our Admin team. This role is for an individual with solid administrative and time management skills. This position is responsible for organizing and scheduling advertising commercial entries into our SDS system to ensure advertising runs on schedule with all necessary content and contract requirements fulfilled. The Admin department is the bridge between Sales, Creative and Master Control.

Reports to:

Hours of work: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, 8am-4pm, or as mutually agreed upon.

Start date: Projected to be beginning of October.

Roles and Responsibilities- and other similar duties as assigned.

Traffic

  • Prepare the daily broadcast log, making logical sense of promos and traditional commercials, while adhering to advertisers’ restrictions, including content sensitivity.
  • Reconciliation of logs referring to the DR (Daily Discrepancy Report) and AsRuns.
  • Work with advertising agency traffic contacts, coordinating traffic instructions and spot delivery as needed.
  • Enter commercials in SDS upon receiving traffic instructions from various advertisers, apply copy accordingly, making any necessary revisions upon agency request.
  • Ensure all commercials are numbered, with correct ISCI codes, THINK TV Approvals and copy rotations assigned.
  • Other traffic duties as assigned.

Program Promotions

  • Liaise with programming department and commercial production to ensure broadcast promos are produced and scheduled to air appropriately.
  • Occasionally provide program promotion materials for entities outside of CHEK (i.e. radio, display boards, print ads etc.)

Sales Coordinator

  • Back up to sales coordinators (both local and national) as needed which may include preparing proposals, entering broadcast orders, assigning creative to orders, pre or post log spot reports.
  • This position will also be required to back up other Admin positions for vacation relief which may include working at the reception desk and covering lunch breaks as needed.

You bring to the role:

  • A self-starter, you can prioritize tasks and are reliable and diligent.
  • 1-2 years of administrative accounting experience and use of Quickbooks would be an asset.
  • The ability to make accurate basic accounting math calculations.
  • The ability to learn specialty software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You can maintain composure under competing priorities.
  • You use good reason and judgement in making decisions.

Qualifications include:

  • Certificate or Diploma in related field such as Business, Finance, Marketing, or Broadcast Television, Media, or another related field.
  • A minimum of 2 + years of related administrative experience in a fast paced and professional environment.
  • 2 + years of related media experience would be an asset.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and work with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an emphasis on paying attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word & Power Point and network file management skills, (particularly Excel), file management, typing, document formatting, Excel formatting, and basic formulas.

  • This is a unionized position in Group 2 as per the Collective Agreement
  • Admin Rates- Group 2 range; $26.31-$39.81 per hour ($51,304-$77,629 annually)
