Paul Mara Jewellers is a family-owned jewellery store with decades of experience in the industry. We are located in the heart of downtown Victoria and have been producing quality jewellery for over 30 years. Well-known for our engagement and wedding band selection, as well as our creative custom designs. We also provide jewellery repairs, insurance appraisals, jewellery restoration, and redesigns, as well as sourcing specific jewellery upon request.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking an organised and self-motivated Part-time or Full-time Jewellery Sales Consultant with excellent communication skills and strong computer skills, in Mac operating systems. The right candidate will have a natural sense of organisation, will work professionally within a team environment and must have some education and understanding of jewellery manufacturing. Applicants should love to wear jewellery and have a genuine appreciation for the jewellery industry.

Key responsibilities include:

• Engage with clients to find the right piece of jewellery that they require for their occasion
• Process sales and orders, and repair intake/pick-ups
• Communicate with clients in person, via phone and email
• Assist clients with the take-in process of items brought in for repair or service
• Prepare estimates (or support the preparation of estimates) for repairs and custom orders
• Clean and polish jewellery as needed
• Follow all security policies and procedures
• Perform quality control of repairs and custom orders received
• Receive and direct telephone calls
• Set up and put away jewellery store showcases
• Assist with the maintenance of a social media presence
• Ensure that the store is kept tidy and presentable to clients throughout the day

Requirements we are looking for:

• A self-motivated, quick thinker with a professional mindset
• A reliable individual with superb customer service skills
• An excellent communicator with both written and verbal abilities
• Ability to operate and function well within a fast-paced environment
• An individual who works well with short deadlines and offers quick responses to clients' needs while maintaining attention to detail
• Someone who enjoys the atmosphere of a small business
• You must have strong sales experience, preferably in jewellery and processing, or equivalent relevant experience
• A team worker who is open to learning and has a positive approach
• Demonstrably proficient with Mac-based software
• Previous custom jewellery design would be an asset
• Social media and brand advertising would be considered an asset if the applicant wants to assist with social media. This would not apply until after a 6-month probation period, during which the applicant has demonstrated a firm grasp of store operations
