We are seeking a dedicated Senior Finance Officer to join our administrative team. You are an Accountant on the rise or a Senior Bookkeeper with years of operational excellence. This role is a full-time permanent position, which offers stability, responsibility, and the opportunity to work in a creative non-profit environment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the daily flow and accurate entry of financial data, maintain the General Ledger, and provide essential administrative accounting support.
- Handle all vendor payments, invoice verification, customer invoicing, and manage receivables collection.
- Execute accurate and timely payroll for staff and seasonal artists, including preparation and posting of all associated payroll journal entries.
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare account analysis and other ad-hoc analysis as required.
- Maintain up-to-date financial documentation and proactively identify opportunities for workflow improvements.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, legal compliance, assist with internal and external audits.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparing data for grant reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants will demonstrate -
- A Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting and full-cycle bookkeeping experience.
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Progress toward a CPA is an asset, but deep and relevant operational experience may be substituted.
- Prior experience with Sage 300 and Sage 50 is preferred.
- Previous experience in a non-profit or charitable setting is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel MS Office applications and computerized accounting systems.
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid Canadian work permit with 2+ years validity required.

- Estimated salary of $65,000-$75,000 per year contingent on experience.
