Annual Salary Range: Exempt Band 6, MIN $102,400.00 - MED $126,900.00 - MAX $151,500.00
Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In addition, our pay philosophy is to align with the median of the comparable market and to be considerate of internal equity comparisons.

What you'll be doing...
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced leader to join our team in the Victoria Regional Transit System. As the Manager, Transit System Operations, you will be accountable for all on road service delivery within our system connecting thousands of people with their destinations each and every day. This position forms a key part of our leadership team, and is both demanding and rewarding in equal measure. You will bring to the table years of operational leadership experience, emergency management, incident response and a ‘people first’ approach to leadership.
Leading a large and diverse team of professionals means your days will always look different. Working out of both our Langford and Victoria depot locations, you will be responsible to manage your time in office and in the field, ensuring you are well connected to every aspect of our operation. This includes leadership of both management and unionized staff within the Transit Control Centre and Transit Supervisor team as well as coordinating across the organization on a number of key initiatives. What you'll bring to the table...
We value lifelong learners and have found that a mix of any of the following credentials have set people up for success in this role in the past:
- A record of progressive leadership in a complex, unionized environment
- Knowledge of public transit or transportation operations, ideally within a multi-stakeholder setting
- Demonstrated capability in labour relations, including performance management and coaching in a unionized context
- Background in frontline or operational transit roles—such as Transit Supervisor, Control Room Operations, Transit Police, or Operations Management—considered an asset
- Familiarity with emergency management, incident response, and safety or regulatory compliance
