Job Summary

A Saanich-based landscape company that provides quality residential landscape installations is seeking enthusiastic, positive employees with education and/or management experience in horticulture.

Description of tasks:

• Landscape installations (excavation, drainage, base prep, hardscape, irrigation, planting, lighting, water features, etc)
• Pruning and planting
• Small equipment operation (skid steer, mini-excavator, chain saw, hedge trimmers, etc.)
• Irrigation repairs and troubleshooting
• Low voltage lighting installations
• Timeline and budget management
• Material procurement
• Employee relations and management
• Client relations
• Maintain safety records, and follow Policy & Procedures

Qualifications:

• Horticultural education preferred
• Project Management experience
• Administrative ability (emails/written language proficiency, budgets, etc.)
• Customer service experience
• Genuine interest in horticulture
• Physically fit and able to do hard work
• Positive attitude and able to take instruction well
• Must be able to work independently as well as with others on a team
• Valid BC Driver's License with ability to drive a pick-up truck (provided)
• Trailer driving an asset

Preference is given for potential long term employees.

Compensation package, in addition to wage, includes: extended health benefits, cell phone stipend, RRSP contributions, and third-party based education/certifications. Company vehicle may be provided after probationary period. Employee Discount at a garden centre.

Wage ($32+/hr) is dependent on experience and proficiency.

Full-time position. Monday to Friday. Average of 40 hours per week.
