BMT Group | Island Hino is seeking a Truck Sales Representative to join our team located in beautiful Sidney, British Columbia. This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension and reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Relationship Management
- Prospects for new customers and maintains relationships with existing ones.
- Assesses customer needs and recommends suitable truck models and configurations.
- Presents truck features, benefits, and pricing information.
- Prepares and presents sales proposals and quotes.
- Closes sales deals and secures financing arrangements.
- Provides ongoing support and follow-up to customers after the sale.
Product Knowledge and Market Awareness
- Maintains current knowledge of new truck models, features, and industry trends.
- Understands competitor offerings and market conditions.
- Familiarizes oneself with truck financing options, warranties, and service plans.
Sales Performance and Reporting
- Meets or exceeds sales targets and quotas.
- Tracks sales performance and analyzes results.
- Prepares sales reports and forecasts.
Collaboration and Communication
- Works with service departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicates effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
- Collaborates with finance and other departments to finalize sales and paperwork.
Marketing and Promotional Activities
- Updates and manages the Island Hino social media accounts, showcasing new inventory, promotions, and company updates.
- Maintains and updates all truck sales marketing materials to ensure accuracy and relevance, including the coordination and printing of promotional content provided by Hino Motors Canada (HMC).
- Attends promotional events, trade shows, and community engagement activities to generate leads and enhance brand visibility.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Identify new sales opportunities through proactive outreach.
- Present product solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
- Manage the sales pipeline to ensure consistent growth.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver outstanding customer support.
- Represent BMT at industry events and trade shows.
- Uphold the company’s commitment to safety and sustainability in all interactions.
Qualifications
Knowledge
- Minimum of High School Diploma and related post- secondary education is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial truck sales or a related field
- Strong knowledge of commercial truck products and features
Skills
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to facilitate, negotiate, resolve conflict and persuade others.
- Strong business acumen, analysis skills, and ability to think critically, conceptualize issues, and systemically address them.
- Proven interpersonal skills; dynamic team player able to inspire, work alongside, engage others, build networks and develop trusting relationships.
- Strong technical skills (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Social Channels)
Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads, close sales, and meet or exceed sales targets
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license
