About the Role:

The Senior Hospitality Manager oversees food services at Berwick, ensuring high-quality, safe, and enjoyable dining experiences for residents. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining a warm, caring environment for residents.

  • Full-time, Sunday - Thursday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (37.5 hours weekly).
  • Must be flexible in hours of work to meet operational requirements.
  • On-call duties as required.

The successful candidate will lead all dining and hospitality services, ensuring an exceptional resident experience through hands-on leadership, clear communication, and a visible presence during meal services, special events, and daily operations.

Working closely with the Executive Chef, the Senior Hospitality Manager develops and implements seasonal menus that reflect resident preferences, maintains high standards of food quality and presentation, and manages food service budgets. They also organize themed meals, special events, and community functions that engage residents and enhance the overall dining experience.

In collaboration with the Active Living team, the manager coordinates catering and hospitality services, ensuring all operations align with resident preferences, programming, and safety standards.

This position requires strong leadership, staff development, and the ability to address resident feedback effectively, while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and fostering a warm, welcoming, and service-oriented environment for all residents.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Advanced Food Service Training (AFST) required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
  • Serving It Right and Food Safe certification.
  • Minimum of five years’ hospitality management experience, including team leadership in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and guidance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating judgment, patience, respect, and professionalism.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to achieve high performance and engagement.
  • Ability to organize tasks, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and represent the organization with a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Experience planning or supporting dining services, special events, or resident engagement programs.
  • Ability to manage operational responsibilities, including schedules, budgets, and service standards.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and skilled at motivating and developing a collaborative team.
