WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Peninsula Co-op is seeking an experience and driven Assistant Store Manager / Grocery Manager at our Food Centre located at 2132 Keating Cross Rd, Saanichton, BC. This is a full-time, permanent position that bridges strategy and day-to-day operations, supporting the overall success of the Food Centre while developing strong, capable teams. Our ideal candidate has the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends, ensuring strong leadership presence across the operation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Supporting the Operations Manager, Food, you will play a key role in ensuring the Food Centre runs efficiently, delivers strong results, and remains customer-ready at all times, with a primary focus on grocery and front-end operations. In the absence of the Operations Manager, Food you will step in to provide leadership support across the site, helping maintain operational continuity and day-to-day performance.
We are looking for someone who:
WHAT YOU BRING
You have 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in retail or grocery environments, with a strong track record of supporting operational performance and delivering results through people. You bring hands-on experience leading teams, coaching and developing leaders, and supporting day-to-day operations while maintaining a focus on service, consistency, and execution. You understand how to balance people, product, and place, and are comfortable stepping in to support multiple departments as needed. You are comfortable presenting to groups; and able to communicate ideas effectively in team settings.
You have experience working with budgets and key performance indicators, using data to identify trends, provide recommendations, and support decision-making. You are organized, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
WHAT WE OFFER
Our target salary range for this role is $70,000 – $103,000 annually. The starting salary will be determined based on the candidate’s knowledge, experience, and internal equity. In addition, Peninsula Co-op offers a competitive total compensation package that includes:
