Quick Stats

  • Compensation: $24.00 per hour + 4% vacation + share of tips pool, for a total hourly compensation target of $31.96
  • Work week: day time shifts (e.g. 10am to 6pm), with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off
  • Level of responsibility: Trains and supervises our Event Hosts and Event Assistants, reporting to the Service Manager

The Job

This position is a combination of desk work (e.g. client calls, documenting event plans) and front line “on your feet” hustle (e.g. helping clients navigate a wedding rehearsal, setting up tables & chairs). Main responsibilities:

Client Care ~ Acts as the main point of contact for all bookings - including weddings & other special events, classes, tour groups and large group reservations

Service Plans ~ Prepares service plans, making sure booking details are accurately recorded, communicated to the team, and align with Sea Cider policies

Team Performance ~ Role models service excellence and leads by example to build a positive team culture. Acts as “front line” event supervisor when needed - for example: before wedding ceremonies and at Sea Cider’s large public events. Trains team members, and takes on service roles to avoid unfilled shifts if needed. Makes sure event spaces are ready for use and always presentable.

Management Support ~ Assists with scheduling, tracking inventory, equipment storage, recruitment, planning large public events, and special projects.

About You

You are an events professional with an exceptional track record in communications, customer service, event planning and coordination who is excited by the opportunity to work for a community-minded, yet growth-oriented company. In addition, you have:

  • Education: Post secondary degree or diploma related to hospitality; SIR certificate
  • Industry Experience: at least two years as an event supervisor or coordinator
  • HR: experience training others, and skills in fostering teamwork and building a positive team culture
  • Client care: a gift for customer service, resolving client concerns, and avoiding complaints in the first place
  • Communication skills, both written and oral: excellent
  • Technology: proficient with standard industry software, POS and reservation systems
  • Personal aptitude: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to get the job done. Great listening skills and openness to feedback
  • Work week: Able to work full time hours, generally daytime hours, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.
  • Physicality: Able to lift up to 25 kg routinely (eg. cases of cider, stacks of chairs) and to work walking and standing up, indoors and outdoors, rain or shine, for hours at a time.
  • A Health & Safety mindset, agreeing to follow all safety protocols
